About Ompu

Ompu is a heavy condensed sans serif typeface with industrial aesthetics. The bold shapes and narrow proportions make it suitable for large headlines and display typography. The shapes have been drawn to suit super tight spacing, which is enhanced by cutting off the sharp points from diagonal letters such as A, V and W. Added flavour comes from the counters which have been drawn with higher curve tension than the outside shapes. This is most noticeable in round letters such as ‘O’ where the counters have straight sides but the outer shapes are smooth and uninterrupted.
