About Vieno
Vieno is loosely based on classic high contrast models such as Bodoni and Didot. These only serve as a starting point though, and from there Vieno does its own thing. The terminals are mechanical, rigid squares, the dots are shaped like a diamond and sharp angles can be found throughout the character set.
The serifs on the other hand have a different vibe. They’re shaped like a wave into a kind on Tuscanesque look, but only from one side. The letter shapes balance between organic and mechanical, traditional and modern. These contrasting shapes have been meticulously designed to create a whole that is controlled and harmonized.
The family includes 15 weights, from Extralight to Black, each with matching italics. A complementary monospaced style is included to add contrast and sauce.
The character set features extended Latin language support, old-style and tabular figures, ligatures, circled numerals, inferiors and superiors, fractions, alternate glyphs, and a set of distinctive icons.
